WOODMAN LODGE-CAMP 8630Built 1902
Designated a Snoqualmie Landmark in 1995
Built to house several of the fraternal organizations prevalent throughout the United States from the 1870s through the 1940s, this hall was built with a decorative false front in a style common to boomtowns of the late 19th and early 20th century. It is a rare surviving example of its type in King County. Although the primary tenants were the Modern Woodmen of America and Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the building has served as an important community gathering place throughout its history. Other organizations that met here included Royal Neighbors and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. The second floor was the primary space used in the dramatized rituals these groups performed regularly. It also served as a voting place, a dance hall, and a timber worker union hall.
